Underground Sculpture is an installation comprised of seventy-five 20 foot lengths of steel rebar buried below the ground. Viewers interact with the sculpture by using a variable pitch metal detector. The release consists of recordings made between 2012 to 2014.

Walking throughout the installation with a metal detector, allowing the orientation of the buried steel rebar to direct my movements.

Duet 8:55
Duet was performed with artist, Shane Huffman. Recording simultaneously, we moved around the installation, responding to each other and the buried sculpture intuitively. The two recorded tracks are overlapped and presented here at equal volume.

Walking in fifteen foot intervals along the y-axis (Vertical Scan) and x- axis (Horizontal Scan) of the installation to create an auditory topographical map.

Internal Mic and Line-In 9:23
Using both the internal mic and line-in to capture the sound of wind, footsteps and the metal detector.
